Just Because

Reviewing all the documents and posts as well as getting pictures ready to be printed for the Court. Whenever we get the date and have to go to Court. Every time I look at her it brings a smile to my face. She is such a cutie pie.

We really hope to hear this week so at least we know when we are traveling again. Sooner = better!!!

The Wait Continues

Kelly is getting antsy and I am certainly anxiously awaiting the news of when we travel to Russia for Court. I still think in the end we will have Katerina home by the end of March but we want it to be sooner. To keep my sanity, I tell myself I will be happy if it is the end of March. But early March would definitely be better than late March :).

We want you home, Katerina. Everyone wants to see you in person, not just in pictures. And many other friends who will not see you in person want to be able to see a picture of you. So we can show the world how beautiful you are.

We just wait

Everything is in Moscow. Now we just wait for the court date. Hopefully it will be sometime in February but who knows, may be early March.

In the interim, we are buying clothes for Kat. She is going to be so cute in her new clothes.

Miscellaneous

* We went clothes shopping yesterday. Actually it started out as shopping to replace Kelly's lost clothing when her luggage did not make it back to the USA from the nightmare plane ride. Turned into buying stuff from Old Navy and Target for Kat. We think the sizing is about as right as it can be.

* Blood work came back negative for the four areas they wanted tested. Just need the actual paper results and then we can send the final medical documents to Adopt-A-Child.

* We pay the final bill tomorrow.

* We learned the pattern/motif for Kat's we choose is being discontinued. Luckily we were able to secure all the parts. It did take a little searching online to find the mobile. All's well that ends well though.

Doctor's Appointment

Kelly and I have doctor appointments this afternoon to have blood drawn and be given a clean bill of health. Once we get this back, we can officially get our Court date in Moscow. Besides paying the bill, this is the last thing for us to do in the United States relative to bringing Katerina home. That is until after she is home.

Jet Lag

Last night was the first time I went to bed at a normal time for me. I googled jet lag and found out it takes about a day for every time zone you travel across when traveling East from the West. Based on this time frame, I will be back to normal in the next day or two. It cannot come fast enough. Our internal clocks work for us 99% of the time. But really work against when traveling.

I think Kelly has handled it better because she was used to ignoring her internal clock when in residency. Those 18, 24, 30 hour days works for something I guess.

If the time frame is correct, I feel for our friends who are adopting from the other side of Russia. That has to be about 16 times zones from ours on the East Coast. It will all be worth it for us and them when our little ones are home but boy has it been tough the past week.

Registering

Holy cow this is difficult. Kelly and I are trying to register as there are many people who want to throw Kelly a baby shower. This is not easy. We just do not know exactly what we need. Or, what will work best. The big things, strollers, baby monitor, car seats, etc, seem to be the easiest because we know we need those. But the rest of the stuff is tough.
